About:
A few nights ago, my wife made a comment about how I'm much more connected to my Southern roots than she is. For the record, I'm pretty sure it was some Jesco White quote I made that spurred her words, so yeah, she's right. Whether it was intended or not, I took it as a compliment. The geography, genealogy, and social graces of Southern life has profoundly shaped the man I am today.

Now, I hesitate to express that I'm proud to be a Southerner (Middle Tennessee via Ft. Payne & Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for those of you keeping score). But this is only due to the many ugly connotations to "Southern pride". Blame the awful things that went down before our lifetime and the idiot heathens that continue to live in fear and hate, accepting their parents & grandparents beliefs.

It's a shame, because there are so many beautiful things about the South and us Southerners. Beautiful things like Glossary, a band whose music has has elicited both contemplative tears from my eyes (Blood on the Knobs, Chase Me Out of the Dark) and fits of manic glee (Lonely is a Town, At Midnight, When Easy Street Gets Hard, Shout it from the Rooftops... actually, pretty much anything in their live set). Glossary's music is a very precious thing to me. It's beyond being a fan or a friend. It's almost intangible.

So it was with a heavy heart that I excused myself from the studio that afternoon after Joey, Kelly, BJ, Todd & Eric showed up in their beat-ass blue van to record these Lake Fever Sessions. This hard-working Southern boy-turning-father has bills to pay and had to step out to get to work that day. So as y'all are watching this first time, I am too. I hope you're as excited as I am.
